Arkansas
acrylic on panel
28"h x 28"w x 2"d

One in the occasional series of my paintings that take a cue for the title from the panel's shape. Not strictly following the actual map, but suggestive of map boundaries by the combination of straight and ragged lines. Here, my birthplace state of Arkansas is suggested by the right side edge reminiscent of the Mississippi River and the painted-in "notches" at top right and bottom left where Missouri and Texas intrude on the semi-rectangular state form.
