In the Autumn of the Year of Covid (2020) nearly the only way to safely associate with other people was in the fresh air, outdoors. Not surprisingly, plein-air painting found a resurgence of popularity. A small band of artists gathered weekly to feel the connection to one another through the shared experience of painting in the park. Barbara, one of our group, invited us all to her home's backyard. It was that time, the peak of color, for so many of the trees surrounding the property. With a clear, cloudless sky the glory of the noonday sunshine lit the changing leaves as a fiery explosion of color.
