This is a large work on paper. I utilized an alternating gestural grid resist as a kind-of skewed checkerboard (by using beeswax from old saved candles from my wedding) to temper the overall use of an ink flood, preserving a glimpse of the lower colorful layer drawn with marker, colored pencil, crayon, and pastel.
