I have experienced the phenomenon of visual migraine. It's a headache without the pain but with disturbing visual patterns and flashing colors. It makes eye contact in conversation, reading, or writing very difficult until it passes. This painting explores what that can look like from the inside. It was also completed around the time of the total eclipse travelling across the USA in the summer of 2017, so there's that mash-up.
